If you are similar to us, you rather tend to buy too much food instead of too little. Particularly bread remains unused at our household and we often have to toss it.
I always think it's a pity if you have to throw away food. Not only that there are loads of people on this planet who don't have enough to eat. Also, it costs money and someone used his time and resources to produce it. Maybe I'm kind of greenie about that, but I just hate to toss food.

Which is why I will show you a day old bread recipe to bake delicious garlic bread chips.

Generally, you can use every bread for this recipe though I never tried wholemeal. If you give it a try, please tell me how it worked out for you! Cut the old bread in thin slices (the thinner, the better - thin slices become crunchier). If the bread is already dry, it doesn't matter either.
Cut the garlic and fry it shortly with oil in a pan. Afterwards, add a handful of bread slices. Not too much - it's important that the chips soak the oil. This will make them crunchy. So do not add too many chips and instead repeat the process several times.
When the chips are slightly brown, you spice them with salt and curry and take them out of the pan. As soon as they're cold, you can pack them in an air-tight bowl - or eat them all at once :)

I have to confess our living room is still quite Spartan.
No curtains (I'm no fan of curtains) and also no decoration or pictures on the walls. We also don't have painted walls - time for a change!
Thus, I ordered an adhesive forest wall mural on http://pixers.de, which matches to the simple look of the living room. The decision was pretty hard, as there were a lot of cool wall murals. In the end, I took a tree mural, which enlarges the room.

It's been a long time since I baked something. 

Our little baby doll keeps us quite busy. Moreover, we want to eat healthier and pancakes are not actually known for being healthy. Well, maybe the blueberries save the day :)

And if not - well, at least, they tasted delicious.

First, separate the eggs. Stir the flour with the milk, add the egg yolk and stir again. Afterwards, add cinnamon, lemon zest and vanilla.
Stir the egg white with salt and sugar, until it's creamy and fold it in the paste.
Fry the butter in a pan, until it's slightly brown, afterwards add the paste. Put the blueberries on top and fry the paste, until it's solid. Paint a cake pan with oil (best use one of the pans you use for quiches). Preheat the stove to 200° C (392 F). As soon as the pancake is solid, put it in the cake pan and bake it for 10 minutes in the stove.
Afterwards, take it out and cover it with sifted icing sugar. Put it for another 2 minutes in the stove. Enjoy!

Recently I bought some craft supplies I was eager to use. The set contained also a few vintage stamps I wanted to try. After some hard thinking, I had an idea for handmade gifts: a colorful pencil box. Now, my old one, which has already seen better days, finally can retire.

The metall box I used was a jewelry box formerly. Maybe you know the boxes some brands use to pack their jewelry. This one was pretty scratched on the surface, so the new look came right on time.

Paint the box several times with acrylic spray until the old color is completely covered. Afterwards, release your wildest fantasies (just kidding..) and use different stamps for a new pattern. Stamps and corresponding ink pads are nowadays available in lots of stores.

By the way, I decided to keep my new pencil box - the pencils already moved in 😀

Today has been such a beautiful November morning!
For quite some time I'm thinking about writing a post about garden plants in fall. Blooming flowers on the balcony or in the garden during the darker season just lighten the mood.
This morning, the sun shone so bright on our balcony, I couldn't resist any longer. Quickly, I put on my jogging trousers - over the short pajamas. Hoping, the baby would be busy long enough, I fetched the camera and started to take photos.

I was lucky, the baby was good and the sun stayed until I was ready.

It's the last crafted Christmas Advent calendar for this year, I promise. It's also my favorite one - plain and simple. A bit puristic maybe, but that's what I prefer at the moment. This one's will the first Christmas Calendar for our baby- but that will be next year, she's too small for now.

Afterwards, you only have to print the PDF-File, cut out the numbers and stick them onto the boxes.
For decoration, I used Christmas ornaments - it's November, so time to fetch the Xmas stuff!
During my last walk, I found some branches and tiny fire cones. I liked these so much, I painted some of them white using acrylic paint.
